Anyway, Dave & Justin worked their asses off to get the bike done for the show and did an incredible job. After they finished we packed up and headed out west to Joshua Tree to shoot the bike for a magazine feature. There couldn't have been a more amazing place to shoot this bike for a bunch of Gram Parsons nerds like us - this was sacred ground...
We checked into the Joshua Tree Inn, a small roadside motel where Gram's life ended in September 1973. Outside room number eight there's a beautiful shrine to Gram...
The whole place is filled with awesome Gram memorabilia, including a room in the main building filled with old news clipping and original vinyl...
As the day wore on and the sun began to set we loaded up the bike and took it to Joshua Tree National Park. I can't show you the best shots from that day (you'll see them soon enough) but here are some good outtakes...
Sam and Justin get the bike all clean and shiny before the shoot.
Holy shit, it's Bigfoot!!!
Justin & Dave enjoy a cold one.
The lovely Shelly checks things out.
The whole crew, watching me do my thing.
The next day we got some shots at the Inn. To really capture that old school 70's vibe we rolled the bike out beside the pool...
Bigfoot in a serious moment...
